June 18, 2025 – Snacking has fully moved into an essential eating occasion for consumers. 47% of consumers snack two to three times per day, with 14% snacking four or more times daily, closing the gap with traditional meals. Consumers are no longer treating snacks as optional extras; they are using them to replace meals, fuel their day and meet emotional needs. Through managing hunger (49% cite this as their top reason), boosting energy, providing comfort and beating boredom, snacks play multiple roles, often within the same day.
