The main areas covered include what, where, why and when consumers snack, healthy versus indulgent snacking, children’s snacking trends and the changing snacking climate – looking at possible factors that could influence consumer behavior in the near future – namely the current financial situation and interest in sustainability. Globally, consumers are balancing health with indulgence by more often opting for the healthy snacking alternative, and certainly healthiness is important when selecting snacks for their child/children, but indulgence is key too, with flavor/taste being the top feature for making a snack indulgent.
