May 21, 2025 – In the past 12 months, inflation rates in the Eurozone and the UK have stabilized from previously high levels. However, consumers still perceive the effects of recent price rises and overall high costs of living. Europeans remain skeptical regarding their financial future, with one-quarter expecting their financial situation to be worse one year on. The high cost of living and precautions regarding the future and economic situations have a dual effect on consumers’ food and beverage expenditures: consumers increase spending to accommodate recent price rises but are also trying to find ways to reduce costs and make room for other expenses or spending priorities.
